Feed count acting up!

I don't know why the feed count is not showing the real number of subscribers this blog has. It's been fluctuating so I am concluding it's acting up.

Anyway, a lot of stuff that I used to rely on related to blogging have been going offline or closing shop and changing directions. I will need to double check on all those things very soon so that I would know what to discard and what to replace with what.

Burn out

I will be honest enough to tell you all the truth that I can already feel it for the past year now. Burn out. I know I've been spreading myself too thin for so long but I would like to think it's more of a necessity so I had to do it. Blog all I could, still can.

I am admitting now what I've been noticing the past year or so... the drive to blog is slowly fading. I know I will most likely blog for as long as I can see and type. I will be a blogger for the rest of my life. But that once burning passion to blog has diminished somehow.

I never thought I'd come to a point in my life when I would enjoy being out of the house more than being inside and online. These past few weeks, while helping my brother and his fiancee with their wedding preparations, I've been enjoying myself so much! I've been offline most of the time and I am truly having fun!

I know the burning passion to blog is still there. In fact, I can feel its spark every now and then for the past few weeks. I can make it burn as bright as it once was. I know I can. But for now I will just let myself have fun being offline.

Old Posts

I will be archiving old posts today.

That's part of my plan on getting back this blog's rank. I don't really know if it will have an impact but at least I am doing something to reach my goal.

And I do hope it will have a positive result which will mean a green juice pouring in.

Do something!

I need to make the rank of this blog back to at least zero. I don't know why it's taking so long for this rank to change. It actually did change a couple of weeks ago into 1 but for some reason it was retracted just 24 hours after.

I think I will need to weed out old posts, maybe archive some. I already have a plan in mind on how to proceed but it will take time since I still have a lot on my plate right now.

But, yes, I will do something very, very soon!

Feeling inspired!

I thank the good Lord that I am feeling inspired right this very minute. I can feel my mojo coming back! Yeah!

I must admit that I was in no mood to write the past few days. I would write one post or two and then abandon what I started in the rest. But today I can already feel that I will be able to write a dozen or so entries in one sitting.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will truly happen.

Posting one entry after another whenever I feel like it has finally paid off. I know that since this is a free domain blog it won't be that much help to me. But this blog has been the first one to start off my blogging life so I am quite attached to this one.

I would like to think that this was what I did when I stumbled upon blogging. I didn't know what I was really getting myself into except that I wanted an online diary and I wanted to connect with someone. Back then, I didn't know that blogging could become a lifestyle for me. Yet here I am now, living it.

So if you feel like you are onto something really good, don't give up! Keep on going that same direction until you stumble onto that something really good. If you give up now, you may be stumbling onto it tomorrow and you've lost that chance.

My love for this blog...

...knows no bounds! ;)

I started my blogging life in this blog. Yes, I had a bravejournal account before and some others that I completely forgot about now. But this blog started it all for me. This used to have a URL of xxxsashaooo.blogspot.com but bloggers from some countries, especially in the Middle East, couldn't access my blog due to perceived x-rated content. The xxx in the URL pretty much did it! Hahaha! So I changed the URL to sashashing.blogspot.com and have stuck with it since then. June 2006 was my starting point but I began blogging way back in 2004 in other blogging platforms.

Anyway, I won't go into too much details anymore. You will surely find more than enough information about my blogging past here somewhere. What I am driving at here is that I will continue blogging here for as long as I can. Maybe even after I am done maintaining so many blogs and I am already going in another direction I will still blog here.

There were times in the past when I thought of personalizing this blog further, using a personal domain, a DOT COM here. But I don't think I'd want that any longer. No, I will keep this blog as is.

A change in templates

I felt like doing something different in this blog of mine so here it is! I changed the blog template. What do you think?

I am loving the vibrant colors of red and black. I am loving the fonts used. I am loving the overall feel of the template.

I pray that the big G of the internet would feel the same way and give me back the rank that this blog lost months ago.

Lightbulb moment

I have one blog that I haven't been focusing on yet. It has its own domain name and since I don't have anything in it yet I am thinking of transferring the content of this blog to that one. Anyway, for some reason known only to them, the big G of the internet hasn't been ranking this blog after it was given a 4 in the beginning, then a 3 and the last one about a couple of months ago, a 2. Because of that, I haven't been getting assignments for this blog.

So that's my lightbulb moment.

Maybe with a domain name attached to the content it will be given a rank by the big G of the net?

I do hope so.

I'll begin the transfer this weekend.

Still gray :-(

Another update came and go and nothing happened! I don't know if I will continue making an effort in this blog. I am undecided whether to buy a domain already for a chance to rank again. Should I?

What's going to stay the same is the title of this blog. The template will be changed, hopefully for the last time until a rank shows up. And then I don't know what else! Maybe I ought to start posting photos here as well. Hmm...

Anyway, I am still happy this blog is earning somehow. I will ask good friends if putting a personal domain here will somehow help. If it will and majority will say yes, I will buy a domain name for this blog. A DOT COM!

So hey...!

I have come up with a concrete plan as to how I can execute what I previously posted on the steps I will take to improve this blog's ranking.

I will be posting a week's worth of blog entries already!

And this is how it's going to be...

I promised myself that I will religiously post DAILY for one month. I will join memes for 4 weeks. But I am not a machine so there should be specific topics so I would know what to dish out, right?

For week 1 (Oct 21 to 27), I thought I'd write about celebrities. Positive things about a select few that I like. For the memes, I don't think I have something about celebrities for personal photos so I will try to come up with something.

For week 2 (Oct 28 to Nov 3), I thought I'd write about friendship. I will write about friends back in grade school, high school, college. And friends I made at work.

For week 3 and 4 I still have to think about but there you have it! I already have two weeks worth of topics to write about!

Yey!!!

On to writing!

What else do I have to do?!?

I regularly update this blog. I am keeping with the sporadic thoughts theme that I came up with. I join memes when I can. I cleaned up the blog a bit: archives, categories/labels, template.

That's why I am up against a blank wall as to how the rank's not doing any better!!!

Why the F not?!?

Maybe I should buy a domain already? But this blog is kinda special to me. Sentimental reasons, you know. I started seriously blogging via this blog of mine.

I will try joining memes for 4 straight weeks. I will update daily for a month. I will make sure I have at least a comment per post I make, even with the paid ones.

Let's see if that will bring the Alexa rank back up and the elusive PR green once again.

This blog used to be called Bookmarks, A journey of life, love and everything in between. My goal was to chronicle my journey in life here, mostly in correlation to the books I read. But along the way, so many things changed. I got sidetracked and posting here became sporadic.

So it got me thinking... why not change this blog's title to Sporadic Thoughts?

I did and I am curious as to what you think about it.

Looking back...

I was looking back at old blog entries and it made me feel nostalgic. I miss the old blogging days! I miss writing just for the fun of it. I miss my old blogger-friends! I miss everything and everyone!

Times are different now. I am no longer active in the blogging community. In fact, I lost most of the blogger-friends I made back then. No regrets, though. That's part of (blogging) life. People come and go.

I just miss everyone all of a sudden. Miss ko na ang mga kulitan sa cbox at comments section!

Important things to do

I will be tinkering with my cpanel again. I will be deleting a blog/domain and will be transferring a couple more to Blogger. Those that I will be transferring will eventually become inactive blogs that I will decide later on if the domains will be renewed or not.

There's so much to do but for now, I will have to rest.

Why, oh, why?!?

I really hate this! I've been working hard for my blogs to become better. Sure, there are instances wherein the SP's would come by the dozen. But after that, I really try to write a lot and compensate for it. Or I squeeze in between personal posts, even ante date some photos just to break the marathon of SP's.

And then this??????

I truly cannot understand the workings of the Goog bot!

Why the sudden gray bar? Why not just remove the green juice and give me a ZERO? Why? Working hard in this fickle-minded environment is not enough. You need to really know what will work to get ranked.

Aargh!!!

Huh?!?

I don't know what happened. All of a sudden, I lost this blog's rank! I was just checking the number of posts I did for the last week when I noticed there's no green in my toolbar. I don't know where I went wrong. I've been writing regularly.

I guess the king of the internet doesn't think it's enough.

Darn them!

What a blessing for the new year!

Blessings come in different forms. For this blog, the blessing came in the form of a green in the Google toolbar. Bookmarks is now a PR2 blog! Yey! Thank you, Goog!

To be quite honest about it, when I heard there's an update made, I didn't check this blog anymore. I already gave up on ever getting back this blog's rank. When I opened this to do a task, I was shocked to see something green on the toolbar! When I checked closely, it's a 2! Imagine that!

What a blessing! I will try to update this blog more. Hopefully, Goog won't change its mind and take back the 2. 3 next time? :)
