The two guys were carrying guitars. They looked mighty fine on that cool Friday night. They came from the city. They went to the barrio to sing a sweet serenade to the lady who captured the heart of one of the men.
It took them three songs before the lady appeared at the window. The young folks in the area were teasing them about it. It was a sweet serenade and the guys have great voices. The lady was swooning from the attention given to her.
After four songs, the guys were allowed to enter the house by the lady's father. They got to talk and the enamored guy promised to be back the next day to formally court the lady. He did. And he is now being seriously considered to be the lady's escort to the grand ball the barrio is preparing for next month.
