Buckets of tears

I cried buckets of tears over my disappointment with a love one. After all the sacrifices, after everything I did, I don't know how he could raise his voice to me and accuse me of being maramot.

Of all people, ako pa ang naging maramot!

My heart broke when I heard it. I don't know what to say or do anymore. He is old enough to know right from wrong but it seems to me that he will always insist he's the right one no matter how wrong he is.

I blame myself for the way he became. I spoiled him and I shielded him from the pain of learning his way through life. It is all my fault!

And I will regret this for the rest of my life.

7 days to go!

Ruby Tuesday 2

And if you haven't figured it out, I am talking about Christmas. 7 more days to go, baby!

Are you ready for the big day?

I am not yet done with my Christmas shopping. I've yet to get something for my dad and my siblings. Plus there are some more stuff that I want done before then.

So many things to do, so little time! It seems to me that during the holidays, 24 hours are not enough. Don't you think?

I hope you are more prepared than I am.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Going back there...

That's yours truly in a cable car ride at Ngong Ping Village, Hong Kong. I am not too fond of heights and since my imagination always runs wild, I was imagining almost the whole ride that I would plunge to my death. Ha! Ha! Ha!

But I will go back there next year and I will ride that cable car again!

I miss Hong Kong!

;)

*I also reminisced about my 2011 Hong Kong trip here.

Book Friend

Ruby Tuesday 2

When my sister and I went to Thailand last August, one of the first things I checked out was the nearest bookstore. The one above called Book Friend was just a few blocks away from the hotel where we stayed at.

I got a kick out of seeing popular titles with Thai translations like the following...

Remember by Mary Higgins Clark

Snow White & the Huntsman

The Book of the Damned by DA Fowler

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

The Sky is Falling by Sydney Sheldon

I have more photos of bestsellers translated into Thai as well as their local paperbacks. I had a blast just going around that Thai bookstore.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Just believe in Him.

That's what I tell myself whenever I am worrying or panicking. Just believe in Him. Trust in Him!

If you haven't noticed it yet, time and again He's always been there for us. When we find ourselves in trouble for one reason or another, He sends help our way. When we find ourselves hungry, He sends food our way. It may not be in the form that we are expecting it to be but help and food come.

Think of any situation in the past where you found yourself backed in a corner. And then think of some form of help that came your way. That's Him!

Keep the faith, my friend. He is just there beside you, walking with you every step of the way.

:)

Stay away, negative thoughts!

I believe this to be true.

We should always consider negative thoughts to be thieves. We don't let them in our houses because they steal away what's valuable to us. Negative thoughts do the same thing to our minds. It steal away whatever is good inside it.

Do you want what's good inside your mind stolen?

I don't think so!

So make sure to step away from any negative thoughts or emotions. It will ruin what's good inside you. Maybe not right away but slowly, eventually, it will.

Hello, December! ;-)

November was done and a new month ushers in...

Hello, December!

I am praying that you will be good to me just as, if not better than, November ever was. I thank the Lord that I am here to witness a new month come to life.

I am always grateful.

Happy first of the month!

;)

Christmas is just around the corner.

We still don't have Christmas decorations around the house. I think we'll get some up within the coming week. We are not really big on Christmas decors except for some lights in the terrace and whatever we have stored.

Every year we would plan on getting a new tree and putting up more festive stuff around. But it doesn't happen. We're too practical to buy something as expensive as a brand new tree. We make do with what we have.

Have you bought any new Christmas decors and were you able to put it up already?

Little girl reading

Truth be told I am a late bloomer in reading. I became a bookworm when I was already in my teens. I read a lot when I was younger but lack of budget for books and a very limited library in school prevented me from really digging in on the books that matter.

I never went through that phase of reading the classics. My very first novel was a historical romance book. Ha! Ha! Ha! I know, not very appropriate! But I bought the novel for only 25 pesos in National Bookstore. That amount was right on the budget so I was allowed to get it for myself. Then I went through the phase in high school where I read almost all Sweet Dreams, Sweet Valley High, and Tagalog romance novels that I could get my hands on. Then in college, I read more Sidney Sheldon, Danielle Steele, Johanna Lindsey, Judith McNaught, Jude Deveraux, and other foreign authors that I was lucky to get from friends.

For more than two years now, I've been digging into Young Adult books a lot. I realized that I never really went through the books that make my young heart flutter so I am now going back and indulging myself. Ha!

There are days when I regret not starting really young in reading. There are just so many good books that I haven't read and most of them are for little kids! Some people laugh at me for buying kiddie books but this girl doesn't really care. I want to read those books you know. And if not now, when?
